Koh Samui offers an excellent choice of off-plan investment properties for sale to Buyer’s looking for short-term return on property investment through the island’s holiday rentals market in addition to long-term investment return based on the appreciation of property value. There are several factors to be considered which impact the quality and expected financial return of a property investment on Koh Samui.
The purchase cost is of course an important aspect and so off-plan properties are without a doubt the best investment opportunities compared to completed properties. Location is also very important with most investment sales centered around the northeast of the island between Bophut and Chaweng Noi, however the more luxurious high-end property market of beach villas and luxury retreats is less location dependent. When choosing a Koh Samui investment property, it’s also a good idea to think about expected maintenance costs where, for example, natural materials such as wood have higher ongoing maintenance costs that more modern composite materials. Finally style of property and rental guest capacity will have a high impact on return on investment with most renters looking for modern properties to book and the number of bedrooms and guest capacity impacting rental cost per person.
